4-23-18 UPDATE - If you volunteered, you should have received this in an email on 4/23.

Full for shift #1 (10 am to 2:30 pm)
Two spots left for shift #2 (2:30 to 6:30 pm)

While shift three is still not 100%, several of you have stepped forward and said you will stay over from shift #2 or come back from shift #1. THANK YOU! - We really need coverage 6:30-8:30 pm ish. Still time to sign up if you know anyone interested…

Run Aid Station #6 – same place as last year. We are about 200 yards WEST of the East Shore Club house. We will be on Majesty Row and the corner of North Bay Place. The athletes will pass thru our station, take a right up the hill and then turn left just before the East Shore club house to catch the new part of the waterway trail. (The Run Aid #6 truck will be parked in the driveway to the island construction entrance). If you can find the East Shore club house, you will see the Run Aid #6 location.

On the IM TX Run map, we are the “W” located at “North Bay Place”.

What to wear – You will pick up the IM volunteer shirt when you arrive. Weather.com is forecasting a high of 80 and low of 57 and only 54% humidity for Saturday. Looks like it will be cool in the AM but warming up in the afternoon. Please review the forecast the day before and come prepared. Don’t forget Sunscreen, a hat, maybe sun glasses and comfortable shoes that can get wet, e.g. a running shoes or the like. You may want to bring a change clothes for afterwards.

Parking - Parking is an issue, recommend carpooling. Parking for the first shift should not be a problem BUT for 2nd and 3rd, you may encounter closed roads. Leave a bit of extra time to get to aid station #6. You may be able to park in East Shore within 2-4 blocks. This year the Methodist Church is NOT a place to park! They have a Women’s Event and need the space.

Please arrive a few minutes before your shift so you can check in and get your IM volunteer shirt.

We will have pizza for lunch\dinner for the volunteers, one batch for each shift.

On Sunday, don’t forget the Volunteer Lunch\Awards ceremony at the Marriott. It opens at 11 am and the program begins at 11:30.

Life happens – if you cannot work your shift, please let me know ASAP.

BIG thanks once again to our Co-captains, Andreas & Detlef!!

See you Saturday 4/28/18!!

The Ironman TWRC Run Course Aid Station #6 needs your help Saturday April 28th 2018

Once again TWRC will be manning Run Course Aid Station #6 for Ironman Texas. We need approximately 100 volunteers.

WHERE: Run Course Aid Station #6 is in the same spot as last year, the North end of East shore, just west of the East Shore Club House.

WHEN: Saturday April 28th 2018

Join The Woodlands Running Club (TWRC) near the East Shore Club House to support the 1000s of athletes on their quest to hear “You are an Ironman”. Besides passing out food & water, cheering and keeping the area clean for all the runners, duties include setting up (1st shift), working like crazy (2nd shift) and breaking down the aid station (3rd shift). We are going to have a great time!

Same plan as last year.

IMTX has opened registration for volunteers, no password needed
